Hi, I'm Dr. Leia!
I'm a licensed Naturopathic Physician and certified Vis Dialogue Practitioner. My work blends science and soul—empowering you to heal naturally, live vibrantly, and find peace by aligning the body, mind, and spirit. I’m truly honored to walk alongside you as you break through the places you’ve felt stuck, release the patterns that no longer serve you, and begin to discover that life doesn’t have to be as hard as it’s felt.
ALL ABOUT ME
My Story
I grew up in the small town of Sidney, Ohio, raised by my grandparents, whose health challenges unknowingly planted the seeds for my lifelong passion for healing. My love for science began early, and by high school, I was fascinated by genetics and preventative medicine—fields that felt deeply personal after losing my mother to an undiagnosed heart condition and watching my grandmother struggle with chronic illness.
I went on to study at Ohio Wesleyan University, then earned my Master’s degree in Genetic Counseling from the University of Pittsburgh. During my hospital rotations, however, I became disillusioned with the conventional medical system. I saw patients—like my grandmother—being “managed” rather than truly supported in healing. I knew I wanted to pursue a different path, one focused on prevention, natural treatments, and addressing the root causes of illness. At the time, I hadn’t yet heard of holistic or functional medicine.
One late-night online search changed everything. When I discovered Naturopathic Medicine, I instantly knew: That’s it. That’s what I’m meant to do.
Today, I’m a licensed Naturopathic Physician and have been in private practice since 2013. Over the years, I’ve come to understand that unresolved stress and emotional patterns are often at the root of physical illness. Wanting to support my patients more deeply in this area, I became certified in the Vis Dialogue method—a groundbreaking style of Holistic Counseling centered around uncovering emotional blocks and helping people realign with their inner truth.
I've observed that when the mind, body, emotions, and spirit are in sync, we unlock a wellspring of peace, clarity, and healing that’s been within us all along.
Outside of my practice, I’m a wife and mom doing my best to model the lifestyle I teach. My days are filled with whole foods, natural remedies, movement, mindfulness, and the joyful chaos of watching our kids thrive in sports, music, and life. I also love Pilates, gardening (minus the bugs), nature, and a good tennis match.
My Approach
In Holistic Counseling, I help you uncover the deep connection between your subconscious beliefs, thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and physical symptoms. Through carefully chosen open-ended questions, I guide you on a process of self-discovery, helping you identify and understand the limiting beliefs that may be shaping your experience. With this awareness, you gain the power to shift those beliefs and choose a new, intentional path that supports both your mental and physical well-being.
